Volunteers Needed for Sterne's Woods Work Day on May 23

Join us for the May 2021, Sterne's Woods Volunteer Work Day
This month we'll continue to pull garlic mustard and clear brush on the south side of the old horse track. When pulling garlic mustard it can be helpful to have a flathead screwdriver or weeder to loosen soil around the tap root. The park district will provide garbage bags for the garlic mustard however volunteers are welcome to bring their own weeders. Please join us on Sunday, May 23rd, from 9-11AM.

We meet once a month at Sterne's outdoor pavilion, 5617 Hillside Dr. from 9-11AM. Volunteers have a chance to learn about restoration ecology and what makes Sterne’s Fen special. Please bring a face mask, water bottle, and a pair of work gloves. The park district will supply trash
bags, loppers, and bow saws, and I will bring snacks to share. Email
