When Are Beaches Opening In Crystal Lake?

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Sand and sun are not too far off as park district officials start to prep for beach season in Crystal Lake. Here is a look at when the beaches in Crystal Lake are planning to open.

THREE OAKS RECREATION AREA

The beach, splash pad and playground and Three Oaks Recreation Area is tentatively set to open for the season on May 29 at 10 a.m. More information about amenities at Three Oaks as well as the cost — its free for Crystal Lake residents with a valid identification that proves residency — can be found online.

Boat rental is now available on weekends at Three Oaks. Stand up paddleboarding rentals are available starting Memorial Day weekend.

MAIN BEACH AND LAKE PARK BEACH

Both beaches will open for pre-season hours on May 29 through 31. Over that weekend, Main Beach will be open from 9 a.m. to dusk and Lake Park Beach, also known as West Beach, will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. On June 1 through June 4, Main Beach will be open from 12 p.m. to dusk and Lake Park Beach will be open from 3 to 6 p.m.

From June 4 through Aug. 31 both beaches will be open every day. Main Beach will be open from 9 a.m. to dusk and Lake Park Beach will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. More information on swimming this summer at both beaches can be found online.
