2 Aurora Women, 1 Man Dead After Crash In Missouri
The rollover crash ejected all three occupants from the vehicle, police say.
AURORA, IL — Three Aurora residents are dead after a rollover crash involving a tractor-trailer that took place on Interstate 44 in Missouri late Friday. Ignacio Castro-Perez, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene. Martha Rabadan, 55, and Maria R. Mendoza, 73, were later pronounced dead at hospitals near the town of Sullivan, Missouri, police say.
According to an initial investigation, the 2004 Mitsubishi Montero occupied by the Aurora residents was heading westbound on I-44 near mile marker 226 when it was rear-ended by a semi. The impact of the collision caused the Mitsubishi to overturn, leave the roadway, and land in a ditch.
When police got to the scene of the crash, they found Rabadan, Castro-Perez, and Mendoza had been ejected from their vehicle. At least one victim was airlifted from the scene, police say.
