$5K of Tools Stolen From Worker's Car, Security Cameras Broken: Downers Grove Police
The incident took place just before the new year.
A worker who showed up for an after-hours HVAC job at a Downers Grove business came back from the job to find $5,000 worth of tools stolen from his truck.
Police responded to the site of the crime at the Florists’ Transworld Delivery, Inc.’s Woodcreek Drive location the evening of Dec. 29. The worker said he had parked near the service entrance door of the building and that, when his job was completed, he saw that his car’s back door was punched in and the lock was missing.
The worker had been inside the FTD building from around 6:52 p.m. to 7:40 p.m.

He said everything within his white 2013 Chevrolet was in disarray when he found it, and that several tools were missing. He said his own personal tools were mixed in with those from his employers.
According to police reports, the man said this had happened before, since he always had tools in his work vehicles.

Two security cameras are stationed at the service entrance door, but one was broken, according to reports, and the other was unable to pull up footage from that evening.
