Boy Scouts Of America To Host Food Drive In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Boy Scouts of America will hold a food drive on Nov. 14 to benefit FISH Pantry. The food drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4340 Prince St.

The following non-perishable, non-expired items are in high demand, according to a news release:

• Canned or bagged beans
• Canned tuna, chicken and other meats
• Soups, stews, broths, chowder, chili and hash
• Canned mini hams
• Canned fruits and vegetables
• Cereal
• Cookies, crackers
• Boxed mixes (cakes, brownies, muffins, bread, pancakes)
• Instant mashed potatoes and stuffing
• Pasta sauce
• Boxed meals
• Coffee, tea bags, hot cocoa mix
• Juice
• Dried lentils, split peas, pinto beans
• Jarred turkey gravy
• Peanut butter
• Jams, jellies
• Ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce
• Syrup
• Paper products
• Cooking oils
• White rice
• Instant oatmeal
• Shampoo, body soap, disposable razors

The donation event will be contact-free. Donors can pull up to the drop-off location and items will be removed from your trunk by volunteers wearing gloves and masks.
