Briefcase, Bikes Stolen In Downers Grove: Police Reports

Downers Grove's police reports for the week of May 17 include a stolen briefcase and two stolen bikes.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A resident's briefcase was reported stolen from a local eatery and two bikes were reported stolen from outside a gas station during the week of May 17, according to recent Downers Grove police reports.

Bikes Reported Stolen from outside BP Gas Station, 4314 Main St.

Police say two Trek bicycles valued at $400 each were stolen from outside the BP gas station at 4314 Main St. The victims told police they left their bikes unlocked under a tree at the southwest corner of the gas station property near the corner of Forest Avenue and Sherman Road around 5:40 p.m. on May 20. They told police they were inside the gas station until around 5:44 p.m., and discovered their bikes were missing when they came back out.

Briefcase Reported Stolen from Cocomero, 5150 Main St.

A woman told police she inadvertently left her briefcase on the floor inside Cocomero on May 20 around 2:40 p.m. She told police she returned to the smoothie shop and later inquired with the shop's manager, but was unable to find the briefcase. Police say the briefcase contained credit cards and two laptops.
