$1,820 in Backpack Blowers Stolen: Police Blotter
Downers Grove police reports, April 9-12

FRIDAY, APRIL 12
Tablet Taken
A white $400 Samsung Galaxy Note was taken from a silver 2002 Subaru WRX sports car. The incident occurred between 1 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. when the car was parked behind a building on the 1400 block of Butterfield Road. At 1:20 p.m. the owner went out to the car and saw that his driver's side front window was broken. The owner didn't know the serial number for the tablet but would contact police when he obtained it.
Busted Window
Someone broke the front passenger side window of a tan 2000 Chevy Blazer outside a business on the 1500 block of 75th Street. The damage occurred between 10:40 a.m. and 11:19 a.m. "Nothing was displaced inside the vehicle and nothing was taken," said a police report for this incident. "It should be noted that all of the doors were still locked and it didn't appear that anyone had gone inside the vehicle." The damage estimate was $50.

Two vehicles were broken into and had items stolen outside the same business on March 31.

Backpack Blower Burglary
Someone took four Stiehl backpack blowers worth $450 each from a business on the 1300 block of Warren Avenue. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. April 10 and 9 a.m. April 11. Someone cut a chain-link fence on the south side of the business property that runs along the railroad tracks.
Once inside, the suspect entered three trailers and took the backpack blowers. One of the trailers was unlocked and the other two were locked but now had $20 locks missing. The trailers were no longer on the scene when police arrived and an employee had no additional information. All four blowers were placed into the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System, or LEADS. There are no suspects or leads at this time.
TUESDAY, APRIL 9
Satchel, Driver's License Stolen
Someone broke the front passenger side window of a tan 2000 Buick Regal outside a business on the 700 block of 59th Street. The damage occurred between 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. A $30 black satchel bag with a driver's license was taken from the Buick. The driver's license was entered into LEADS.
