Churches Offer Fresh Produce At Food Pantry In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Two Downers Grove churches are partnering to host a food pantry with fresh produce and other items on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The food pantry, hosted by Immanuel Lutheran and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church of Downers Grove, will be held in the parking lot of Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 5211 Carpenter St.

The first 20 cars will be loaded up with produce, milk and other goods at this drive-through food drive. They will also receive a gift card to a local store, according to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

The pantry is also welcoming donations of non-perishable items in decorated brown paper grocery bags between 10 a.m. and noon. Donation items can be dropped off outside the church office.

Immanuel Lutheran Church hosts a weekly food pantry on Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
