DGPL Opens Early for Children With Special Needs

One Sunday a month, the library will open an hour early for our young patrons with sensory processing sensitivities and other special needs. Explore the Kids Room without the huslte and bustle of a loud crowd and work on a craft, use our STEM Room toys, or curl up with a book.

Parents can browse and check out new materials from our lobby or ask one of o ur helpful staff members for reading and viewing suggestions. This program is for children and their families. Registration is open to all. We hope to provide a positive experience that is accommodating, welcoming, and encourages future library visits.
