Downers Grove Accepting Orders For Native Tree And Shrub Sale

The selection includes oak, cypress, magnolia and tulip trees, along with honeysuckle bushes and much more.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The village of Downers Grove has begun its annual Native Tree and Shrub Sale, giving homeowners the opportunity to add new life to their yards. Residents have until June 1 to get their order in and a variety of plant life is available, including magnolia trees, red oak trees, wild rosebushes, honeysuckle bushes, and more.

The trees and shrubs are a great way to add a sweet smell to your surroundings and the village mentions that they can also be great at helping to shade your lawn and to conserve water. The trees and shrubs come pre-planted in five gallon buckets and the trees are about three feet in height.

The Downers Grove website has a helpful list of the types of native trees and shrubs that are available for purchase, along with information about the cultivation and care for these plants.
