Downers Grove North Boys Swim and Dive Team Sweeps Downers Grove South

The Downers Grove North Boys Swim and Dive Team beat the Downers Grove South Swim and Dive Team in the crosstown meet on Tuesday, Dec. 29.

The DGN Trojans won the varsity competition, but the freshman and sophomores fell short as the DGS Mustangs won the that competition.

Junior divers Ryan Murphy and Adan Calleja placed first and third and freshman diver Kevin Sullivan placed second in the varsity one meter diving event.

In the 200 medley relay, the Varsity Trojans took first and second place. For the 50 yard freestyle race, the Trojans took first, second and third place. Junior John Pitelka place first, Eric Marconio place second and Jack Costello placed third.

Juniors Jaden Ryden and David Waitley took home first and second place for the 500 yard freestyle race and sophomoreBen Ellstrom took home first for the 100 yard backstroke race.

Yet, the Mustangs came close with senior Sam Dumford sweeping both the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events. DGS junior Frank Erricheillo won the 200 yard medley and 100 yard breaststroke events.

Though DGN freshmen and sophomores came close, the team still won the 200 yard meldley relay and 400 yard freestyle relay.
