Downers Grove North Student Arrested After Threatening to 'Shoot Up the School'
He missed class the next day and posted a photo online of him with BB guns.
A Downers Grove North High School student has been arrested for threatening to “shoot up the school” after posting a photo on himself on social media holding BB guns, including one that looked like an assault rifle.
Mario R. Hristov, 18, wasn’t at school Tuesday, Dec. 13, Downers Grove police announced, which was the same day he posted the picture of himself online. A day before, he had told other students that he wanted to “shoot up the school,” which led to his arrest for disorderly conduct and threats.
Students said they notified school authorities about his verbal threats Monday when they saw him post the photo with the BB gun.
