Downers Grove Shares Guidelines For Opening Outdoor Dining

The village issued guidelines for restaurants who are interested in opening for outdoor dining.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Per Gov. J.B. Pritzker's recent announcement, restaurants throughout Illinois may open for outdoor dining as of May 29. Restaurants in Downers Grove will be able to use portions of their property, including patios and parking spaces, to accommodate diners.

Restaurants that have an applicable liquor license will be able to serve alcohol in designated outdoor dining areas, village officials said in an update. Click the link to find out more rules for outdoor dining areas in Downers Grove.

The village is asking restaurant owners who plan to open for outdoor dining to email them at outdoordining@downers.us to make them aware. Downtown business owners are encouraged to work with the Downtown Management Corporation on their outdoor seating plans.
