MONDAY, MAY 13
Car Window Busted
Someone broke the rear window of a woman's 2000 Honda Civic while it was parked unattended and unlocked on the 700 block of Maple Avenue. The incident occurred sometime between 9 p.m. May 12 and 7:10 a.m. on this day. There were no leads or suspects, according to a report.

Visitors Charged With Retail Theft
Two men visiting from Puerto Rico are headed to court after police say they tried to steal some laptops. Daniel Calderon, 31, of the first block of Calle Asuncion Ponce, and Mauricio P. Santos, of the first block of Urb del Bosque Calle Oeste, were charged with retail theft following an incident at a store on the 7400 block of Lemont Road.
THURSDAY, MAY 9
Attempted Burglary
Someone tried to break into a wooden shed used for storing scrap metal and miscellaneous items on the 5100 block of Thatcher Road. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. May 8 and 4 p.m. on this day with an estimated $25 in damages, according to a report.

Market Burglarized
A man in his bed at 10:30 p.m. heard the sound breaking glass coming from across the street on the 1900 block of Curtiss Street. Four minutes later, police were dispatched to the area and found a front window of a business on the block was broken.
A Downers Grove police sergeant and officer set up a perimeter around the strip mall. No offender was found. There was a cigarette display and several cartons of cigarettes on the floor.
An employee of the store arrived and noticed that several cartons of cigarettes were gone, including a box of 30 cartons he had just purchased. The employee did not close the store that night. He will provide a list of everything that was stolen.
An evidence technician photographed and processed the scene. The window damage was estimated at $1000, according to a report.
