Drug Paraphernalia

McKenzie C. Kimbrough, 25, of the 1000 block of Florence, Westmont, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following a 12:34 a.m. traffic stop on Claremont Avenue at Clayton Court. Police pulled over Kimbrough's silver Dodge Intrepid for driving with high beams on and an apparent lack of license plate or registration light, according to a police report. "…As I spoke to Kimbrough, I could clearly see that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy," the report said. "I also could detect an odor of burnt cannabis about the vehicle. Restaurant's Revenue Disappears

The general manager of a restaurant on the 5100 block of Mochel Drive saw at 11 a.m. that $1,486 in proceeds were not reflected in the business account. The manager said she personally walked the funds, which were in a $50 bank lock bag, to a bank on Main Street on April 28. She said she placed the money in a drop slot on the east side of the building.

Broken Fire Hydrant

An officer on routine patrol at 5:46 a.m. noticed the top half of a fire hydrant laying in the parkway grass on the 1700 block of 71st Street. The valve in the middle of the hydrant was rusted and appeared to have broken off. There was no evidence of an accident and no significant damage to suggest how it was broken, a police report said. A village employee who checked the hydrant later on said it was indeed damaged. There was $1,500 in damages and no leads or suspects.
