Update: Flooding Closes More Streets In Downers Grove
Flooding from heavy rains and melting snow has caused several emergency road closures.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Heavy rains and melting snow has led to several street closures throughout Downers Grove. Officials issued a warning Tuesday urging drivers to use caution on any open streets with high standing water.
Repairs to the Main Street Crossing were also delayed due to weather, officials said. During rush hour, southbound lanes at Main Street Crossing will be closed. Repairs are expected to be completed by noon and normal traffic will resume, according to a news release.
The following road closures are currently in effect in Downers Grove for flooding and standing water, according to a release from the village:

- 41st and Glendenning
- 55th Street between Fairview and Blodgett
- Highland Avenue from 31st Street South of Barneswood
- Barneswood with no access to Highland Avenue
- Lee Avenue at the 5200 block
Closed roads are marked with orange barricades and drivers are urged not to drive around these barricades for safety reasons.

BNSF reports that the northbound lanes ONLY at the Main Street Crossing will be open for the morning rush hour tomorrow (2/21) and the entire crossing will be open by approximately noon. Repairs to the crossing were delayed due to weather.
