Football: Downers Grove North Doubles Up South, 42-21

In a battle between rivals headed in opposite directions, Downers Grove North prevailed over Downers Grove South last weekend, winning 42-21. 

It was a much-needed win for North, which had lost three straight games. The Trojans moved to 3-3 overall. 

Despite losing for the first time in four weeks, the Mustangs are still in pretty good shape. They fall to 3-3, but because this game was non-conference, their record is still 3-0 in the West Suburban Gold Conference, good for first place. 

The Mustangs have a big game next week at conference co-leader Willowbrook (5-1, 3-0 in conference). The game is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. 

Downers Grove North is still looking to pick up its first conference win. It will have a chance next weekend when it hosts York (3-3, 1-2 in conference) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at Downers Grove North.
