Forced-Entry Residential Burglary, Retail Theft: Police Blotter

TUESDAY, APRIL 23
Garage Burglary
Someone took a $25 pellet gun, a $50 Cadillac golf putter and other items from a detached garage on the 4900 block of Middaugh Avenue. The thefts took place sometime over the past three weeks. The garage shows no signs of forced entry, and the 79-year-old owner is in possession of what he thinks are all the keys and remote openers. He said the garage is locked at all times but plans on having the locks re-keyed. The total value of the stolen items is $125.
Burglary to Motor Vehicle
Someone took a $20 monkey wrench, a $10 screwdriver and a $15 pair of sunglasses from a vehicle on the 6700 block of Briargate Drive. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. April 21 and 4:10 a.m. April on this day.

SUNDAY, APRIL 21
Forced-Entry Burglary
Someone entered an apartment on the 2000 block of Prentiss Drive through a locked window while the resident was gone and took over 30 items worth about $8,400, police said. The incident occurred sometime between 3:30 a.m. April 15 and 9:56 a.m. April 21 while the resident was out of town visiting family. When she entered the apartment with a police officer, she could immediately tell that a burglary occurred. Several pieces of electronic equipment were missing, along with clothing, watches and jewelry, according to a police report.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17
Blackberry Theft
An unknown man stole a $500 Blackberry display phone on April 5 at a store on the 1500 block of Butterfield Road, a manager said on this day. The display phone was attached to a security cable, but the man was able to remove the back of the phone where the cable was attached. The store's lost prevention unit is aware of the matter and wanted the police report filed as information.
