Free Fishing Derby Planned At Barth Pond In Downers Grove
Amateur anglers ages five and older can reel in prizes at the Aug. 7 event.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Amateur anglers ages five and older can reel in prizes at a free fishing derby planned at Barth Pond in Downers Grove in August. The derby will kick off at 8 a.m. Aug. 7.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest and shortest fish caught in each age group. Each participant is only eligible for one prize.
Anglers must register in advance to be eligible for a prize. There will be no onsite registration at the event.

Participants who are 16 or older must have a valid Illinois fishing license to take part in the derby. The Downers Grove Park District will send more details ahead of the event day.
