Gnarly J's in Downers Grove Hosts Grand Opening Celebration
The recreation center—which features three bars, indoor sand volleyball courts, bowling and bags—will celebrate its grand opening beginning at noon Saturday.
A new recreation and entertainment center is celebrating its grand opening in Downers Grove.
Gnarly J's, 1211 Butterfield Road, will host a day-long grand opening event Saturday, beginning at noon.
The 19,000-square-foot facility quietly opened last month after a long fight to secure a liquor license from the village of Downers Grove. In addition to its three bars, pool tables and dart boards, Gnarly J's houses two indoor sand volleyball courts, bowling lanes, karaoke and bags on turf.
Patrons must be 21 or older to enter.
The grand opening will feature drink specials and live entertainment from Jason Sturmon, the Hard Times Band and Porch Fly.
Gnarly J's is open Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Friday, 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Saturday, noon to 2 a.m.; and Sunday, noon to midnight.
