I need a older cat for a companion

I lost my beagle in July, and i am truly alone now for the first time in my life, and with Christmas so close, I am so depressed. I no longer feel i can handle another dog now, so I would like to find an older cat to give it a forever home. I can't afford the fees that are required at local shelters, so I am posting here to find a companion. If any one knows of cat that needs a home, please let me know. Please make my Christmas and his/her brighter
