Inaugural Great Pumpkin Fest Saturday in Downers Grove
Benefitting the Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58, the event will be held from noon to midnight Saturday, Oct. 26, in the downtown Downers Grove Parking Structure.

The community is invited to celebrate Halloween in downtown Downers Grove during the inaugural Great Pumpkin Fest.
Benefitting the Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58, the event will be held from noon to midnight Saturday, Oct. 26, in the downtown Downers Grove Parking Structure.
The fest includes an adult and kids costume contest, live music, and seasonal beer, wine and cider and food provided by Lemon Tree Grocer/Zest Bistro.
Tickets are $5. Kids 12 and under are free, and any adult with a costume will receive a free $5 food coupon.
Admission includes free access to the kid’s zone for children 12 and under. Kid’s zone will have carnival games, a Halloween bounce house, face painting and the costume contest at 2:30 p.m.
Adults can enjoy a fun photo booth and a costume contest at 8:30 p.m.

Lions Club's Annual Halloween Parade, Trick-or-Treating Event: The Downers Grove Lions Club will host its annual children's Halloween Parade and trick-or-treating at downtown businesses Sunday. Children are invited to meet in costume at 12:30 p.m. at the parking lot west of the Main Street Train Station. The parade will proceed down Main Street to Fishel Park. After the parade, kids can trick-or-treat at participating downtown merchants from 1 to 4 p.m.
Family Service Shelter's Seventh Annual Run/Walk: Family Shelter Service’s seventh annual run/walk 10K/5K will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at Downers Grove North High School, 4436 Main St., Downers Grove. This year's theme is “Be a Hero for Hope,” and participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite hero or heroine. To register, visit www.familyshelterservice.org.
