Kingsley School Hosts 50th Anniversary Celebration Sunday

The event, exactly 50 years from the original dedication date in 1963, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24.

The entire community is invited to attend the 50th anniversary celebration of Kingsley School.

The event, exactly 50 years from the original dedication date in 1963, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Kingsley School, 6509 Powell St., Downers Grove.

There will be a short program rededicating the school, including musical performances by Kingsley groups.

The program will be followed by light refreshments and an all-school open house.

Named for the late James Kingsley, a long-time education advocate and Downers Grove Lion's Club officer, the school opened its doors on Sept. 3, 1963.
