Man Fatally Hit By Car On I-355 In Downers Grove: Police

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Hoffman Estates man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle on I-355 in Downers Grove, police say. The man, who has been identified as Juan Espinoza, 24, had just gotten out of his car, which was broken down in the traffic lane.

Illinois State Police say Espinoza's Buick Encore had been involved in a single-car crash before it stalled on the highway. Initial investigations show that Espinoza was in the "live lane of traffic" when he and his car were struck by a white Honda CRV.

Espinoza was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Police did not say whether charges were filed in the fatal crash.
