Man With Knife Threatened To Kill Downers Grove Man, Dog: Cops
Police say Angelo Vancheri, 56, of Lemont, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault in connection with the June 1 incident.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Lemont man was arrested on aggravated assault charges after police say he displayed a kitchen-style knife and threatened to kill a Downers Grove man and his dog Tuesday evening.
Angelo Vancheri, 56, of the 400 block of Lemont St., was found with a "bladed, kitchen-style knife" after the incident, according to a police report from the Downers Grove Police Department.
Police say the victim stepped out of his home near the intersection of Warren and Forest avenues just before 6 p.m. to let his dog outside Tuesday and was shouted at by Vancheri, who had emerged from a building across the street. The police report says Vancheri brandished the knife and yelled that he would kill the man and his dog.

Vancheri was taken into custody around 6:15 p.m. and later released on his own recognizance.
