Man Punches Attempted Thief Who Tries to Steal His Groceries: Downers Grove Police
He definitely chose "fight."
A Downers Grove man made a strong case for fighting in a “fight or flight” situation last week when he was able to ward off a thief with his hands.
The resident, who lives in the 4000 block of Washington Street, told police he was unloading groceries from his car just before midnight Jan. 26 when an unknown man walked up to him, grabbed his shoulders from behind and said, “Give me all your shit.”
After being approached, the victim turned around and hit the attempted thief with an “uppercut to the armpit,” according to police reports.
