Maple Avenue Metra Crossing To Temporarily Close For Maintenance
The overnight work is expected to last until Sept. 20.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Commuters who travel in Downers Grove may run into additional delays if planning to use the Maple Avenue Metra crossing in the coming days. The crossing will be closed overnight due to maintenance starting Sept. 19.
The work is expected to temporarily close the crossing at the following times, according to an update on the village's Facebook page:
- Sept. 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m.
- Sept 20 from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m.
The village added that trains will be required to sound their whistles as they pass the work zones during the overnight work. The maintenance is expected to wrap up Sept. 20.
