DOWNERS GROVE, IL -- Fat Tuesday comes but once a year, and with it the promise of those deep-fried Polish confections that many find as hard to resist as they can be to pronounce: paczki. The beloved donut-like treats will be available in and around Downers Grove on Paczki Day 2019, which falls on Tuesday, March 5 this year.
Some bakeries require paczki pre-orders before Fat Tuesday and others will have a limited amount of paczki on March 5. Here's a roundup of where you can buy paczki in the area.

Ingram's is offering up cheese and chocolate chip, apricot, fresh strawberry, and more. Be sure to get your order in by Feb. 26 to make sure to get your hands on some paczki.

The inventive paczki flavors at Kirsten's include chocolate, maple bacon, and poppyseed.

DeEtta's is taking pre-orders of four or more paczki until March 3 at 12 p.m., but they also plan to have plenty of paczki in store on Paczki Day.
540 Duane St., Glen Ellyn
Vanilla Sugar Bakery promises to have their display cases filled with paczki on March 5, but they suggest making a pre-order at info@vanillasugarbakery.com if you've got a large paczki request. The creative flavors include Oreo cream pie and Nutella cream-filled.
348 S. Main St., Lombard
Customers have until March 2 to submit their paczki pre-orders at Lilac Bakery for a chance to indulge in cherry and cream cheese paczki, peach paczki, and an assortment of other flavors.

The Paczki Day festivities at Sylvia's last nearly two weeks, with bakers whipping up the sweet treats daily starting Feb. 28. and ending on March 10. Sylvia's will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on March 4 and from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 5, so stop in early to get your favorite flavor.
