Phallic Snow Sculpture Recreated In Downers Grove
The notorious snow sculpture returned after the weekend's snowstorm.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Traditions are one thing to look forward to during the cold, long nights of winter. In Downers Grove, one such tradition has returned to the delight, or dismay, of local residents: the Prairie Avenue snow penis.
The phallic snow sculpture, which has been a local tradition for more than 10 years, was recreated near the intersection of Prairie and Saratoga, according to one Twitter user.
In previous years, the controversial sculpture has been fashioned to vaguely resemble lighthouses and snowmen. This year, however, there was no way to doubt the stark realism of the penis sculpture.

One of the sculptors, who is skirting fame by remaining anonymous, told Patch that at least 100 people have traveled from far and wide to see the phallic sculpture. One person even drove out from Joliet.

Sadly, the snow penis collapsed shortly after, but the sculptors sprang into action to do a quick rebuild.
