Public Urination, Downed Wires: Police Blotter

SUNDAY, APRIL 21

Public Urination

Robert J. Okonski, 52, of the 700 block of Remington Court, Woodridge, was charged with public urination on the 1000 block of Warren Avenue. An officer was checking the Main Street Depot North premises at 8:03 p.m. when he saw Okonski urinating on the wall. "I then asked him what he thought he was doing," the officer said in a report. "Mr. Okonski then began apologizing for urinating and said he should have used a business bathroom." Okonski was transported to the Downers Grove Police Department for processing. He was charged, given an I-bond and released with a court date pending.

Mountain Bike Taken

A 26-in. mountain-style bike was reported missing from the southwest side of Main Street and Warren Avenue. The owner at 6:30 a.m. locked the bike to a pole on that corner and it was gone when he returned at 3 p.m. Most of the bike parts were black, including the rims, pedals, tires and a spring rack on the back.

Garbage Truck Grabs Wire

A blue garbage Mack truck at 9:10 a.m. struck the bottom utility wires strung above a private drive on the 6200 block of Stonewall Avenue. The wires were pulled down from the utility pole and lay on the parkway. The truck was of legal height, so no action was taken against the truck driver. AT&T was contacted to repair the wires.

THURSDAY, APRIL 18

MP3 Players Missing

Someone took two MP3 players from a silver 2003 Chevy Venture on the 7700 block of Baimbridge Drive. The incident occurred between 7 p.m. April 17 and noon on this day. The owner said he parked his vehicle in his garage, but accidentally left the garage door open. The vehicle was unlocked. The MP3 players were valued at $50 each.
