Roadway Mess, iPhone Collateral: Police Blotter
Downers Grove police reports, March 21-25

MONDAY, MARCH 25
DUI
Brian D. Reeves, 46, of the 5900 block of Sherman Avenue, Downers Grove, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. at 63rd Street and Woodward Avenue. Reeves was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level greater than .08, speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver. His silver Saturn Lw300 was towed from the scene to an impound lot. Reeves was released on I-bond and has an April 24 court date in Wheaton.
Roadway Mess, Smashed Light
A woman at 4:30 a.m. reported two manhole covers, a garbage can and various plant containers lying in the roadway on the 500 block of Grant Street. Public Works was dispatched to place the sewer caps back. An officer walked further west down on the 600 block of Grant Street and saw a black decorative light pole that was damaged. The light fixture and glass shards lay in the street. The officer saw foot steps in snow leading up to the fixture and walking away from the fixture towards the sewer covers that were removed. The owner of the light fixture said it would cost about $150 to replace.

SUNDAY, MARCH 24
DUI
Brenda S. Tillman, 23, of the 3700 block of Indianhead Lane, Joliet, was arrested at 3:44 a.m. on the 1600 block of Ogden Avenue. Tillman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level greater than .08, improper lane usage and two counts of illegal transportation of alcohol by a passenger. Her gray Nissan Altima was towed from the scene to an impound lot. Tillman was released on I-bond and has an April 24 court date in Wheaton.

THURSDAY, MARCH 21
iPhone Theft at DGN
A Downers Grove North High School student told police at 3:43 p.m. that someone took his white $500 iPhone 5. The student forgot his calculator for his math class and in order to receive one from the teacher, he had to place his school ID card into the plastic container located in the classroom by the extra containers. He did not have his school ID, so he put his iPhone into the plastic container and took a calculator for the class period. When class ended, the student forgot to retrieve his phone and left the class with the calculator. When he returned between sixth and seventh period, the phone was gone. The teacher was not aware he used his iPhone for collateral and had not seen it.
