SEASPAR offers Family Days at The Morton Arboretum

SEASPAR and The Morton Arboretum work together to offer an outdoor nature experience for youth participants with special needs.

SEASPAR (the South East Association for Special Parks and Recreation) has partnered with The Morton Arboretum to offer Family Days, an outdoor nature experience for people with special needs and their whole families, on April 10 or May 8. Family Days is a 45-minute session featuring craft-making, storytelling, playtime, snacks, and special access to exciting exhibits hosted at The Morton Arboretum. In addition, afterward, guests and family members will have access to Morton Arboretum's 1,700 acres of nature at its finest.

As the name suggests, Family Days encourage the whole family to participate, which is why with every paid admission, up to five family members can tag-along free of charge, though limited to immediate family, guardians, and caregivers. The cost for all this is only $8, but you'll have to act fast as space is limited.

Registration is open to all current and future SEASPAR participants ages 5 to 15 years old residing with the 12 communities SEASPAR serves. Current SEASPAR participants need only register online. New families eligible for SEASPAR services can join the fun just as easily after initiation, which typically includes introductions to staff, and standard intake forms. Interested in becoming a SEASPAR participant? Get involved by calling Molly Downing at 630.960.7600.
