Sucker Punch at Urinal

Police at 12:09 a.m. responded to a disturbance outside a business on the 2100 block of 63rd Street. Several people crowded outside were calmed down. Then one of the officers was approached by an unknown woman who said there was a man inside the bathroom with a serious injury.

The man had a visibly swollen lip and appeared somewhat dazed. He had a large bump on the back of his head and a small amount of bleeding, but did not remember anything. He was not sure why police were speaking to him and did not remember being picked up off the floor. An officer requested medics.

"We questioned several people, but no one was able to give any information about what may have happened," said the police report for this incident. "The only thing we could determine was that it was likely that (the man) was punched while standing at the urinal and did not see who struck him. He could offer no reason for being attacked." There were several other small incidents throughout the night, but it was unclear if any or all of them were related, police said.
