Think You Could Survive a Horror Movie? Test Your Fate This Weekend

The Downers Grove Park District also created an interactive quiz if you just can't wait to get to the Lincoln Center tonight.

Think you could survive a horror film?

If you’re one of those movie-watchers who sits in a theater and wants to yell at characters for all of the horrible decisions they're making, you might want to test your own chops at tonight and tomorrow night’s Suburban Horror Story event.

Suburban Horror Story: Final Destination is the third event in a series hosted by the Downers Grove Park District and was wildly popular last year with more than 800 attendees. The idea is that participants enter the local Lincoln Center and have to choose what they think is the right route through the building to get out in one piece.

The Lincoln Center at 935 Maple Ave. was built in 1867 and has plenty of ghost tales and scary stories in its history, the Park District stated in a press release. It hardly has to be modified to make it a haunted house.

The event will take place from 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 and costs $8 at the door. The journey is recommended for ages 10 and up, though there is no age restriction.

“The mystery is not if you will reach it, but what happens once you’re there,” the Park District’s website reads. “What does death look like? Take the plunge into darkness, mystery and terror and explore the beyond as you travel to your Final Destination.”

If you want a glimpse of your fate a few hours early, the Park District created an interactive quiz that tests your horror movie navigation skills. See if you make it out alive here.
