DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove will not reopen Friday as the state moves into Phase 4 of Gov. J.B. Pritzker's Restore Illinois plan, but is looking to open its doors in the future when theater capacities increase further. The news comes after Illinois released guidelines for Phase 4.

In a Facebook post, Classic Cinemas, which runs Tivoli Theatre, wrote that "the 50-person capacity limitation for the Tivoli is lower than the 25% capacity we had previously discussed with the state."

They added, "Unfortunately, it's not feasible for us to reopen at 5% capacity" and encouraged residents to visit other Classic Cinemas theaters in the meantime.
