Tortorice's Wins District 99's 2020 Pizza Wars

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Tortorice's Pizza has been crowned the best pizza overall pizza in District 99's 7th Annual Pizza Wars competition, which was held Thursday. Tortorice's won best overall pizza and also emerged victorious in the best sauce category.

Close to 700 residents turned up for the event, which featured competing pies from eight pizzerias throughout the area, including Lou Malnati's, Papa's Pizza, Pizzeria 32, Rosati's, Sarpino's, Skuddlebutts, Zazzo's and Tortorice's. Lou Malnati's Pizza took home the prize for best crust.

The event raised almost $20,000 to benefit District 99 students. The money will be put toward scholarships, teacher grants and other initiatives.
