DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove's newest ramen restaurant is now open for business. Wasabi Restaurant and Bar hosted its ribbon cutting ceremony on Jan. 30. The ceremony, held at the restaurant's 5130 Main St. location, was attended by Downers Grove Mayor Bob Barnett, who stuck around for a bite to eat afterwards and to hobnob with the staff.

Wasabi uses fresh ingredients to craft a variety of traditional Asian dishes for its lengthy menus. Some of the standout items include miso tempura or pork chashu ramen, squid, octopus and eel sashimi and a variety of sushi rolls.

Diners can also opt for authentic Chinese eats like chicken lo mein, General Tso's chicken and Kung Pao shrimp. Pad Thai and panang curry chicken are other items you can sink your teeth into on the Wasabi menus.

Wasabi Restaurant and Bar is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
