Weekly Bingo Games Set To Return To Downers Grove American Legion

Post 80 will welcome the public back on June 22 after more than a year of being shut down due to the pandemic. The jackpot sits at $20,150.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — After more than a year of not hosting weekly bingo events that typically draw up to 100 people, American Legion Post 80 in Downers Grove are excited to welcome the public back later this month.

The American Legion announced Monday that it will host its first public bingo event on June 22. The long-standing tradition of the weekly bingo events is in addition to other games that result in more than $5,000 in winnings being awarded each Tuesday, legion officials said. The event will be the first time the weekly bingo games have been open to the public since last March at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

“This is a welcome reunion,” Post 80 Commander Bruce Peiffer said in a news release. “We are thrilled to be able to see old friends and make new ones at our traditional Tuesday bingo nights.”
