Bloomingdale Officials Seek To Shutter Indian Lakes Hotel
According to Village President Franco Coladipietro, no hotel security was present when several people were shot, one fatally, Saturday.

BLOOMINGDALE, IL — Just days after one person was killed and several others were shot at Indian Lakes Hotel in Bloomingdale Saturday, local officials are hoping to shutter the hotel for good. In a post on the Village of Bloomingdale Facebook page, Village President Franco Coladipietro wrote that he aims to revoke the hotel's licenses, adding that no hotel security was present at the time of the shooting.
Bloomingdale police were called to the hotel at 250 W. Schick Road at about 2:35 a.m. Saturday for reports of shots fired on the fifth floor. At least four people were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries.

According to Daily Herald, the man who was fatally shot was identified as James McGill, 27, of Chicago.
At press time, no suspects are in custody and police believe there may be additional victims who have not come forward.

In his Facebook post Coladipietro wrote, "I want to assure the Bloomingdale community that your safety is of utmost importance to me and the Board and that the area has been secured and is safe. We are now in the process of initiating legal proceedings to eliminate this threat to our community. We will keep you updated as to our efforts."
