Body Found In Fox River In Elgin

ELGIN, IL — An investigation is underway after a body was found in the Fox River in Elgin Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The Elgin Police Department responded just before 2 p.m. to the area of the river under the Route 20 underpass where they found a dead person in the water, according to a post on the Elgin Police Department Facebook page. Authorities recovered the body, and the person, who is not yet being identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the death is ongoing, and no additional information is immediately available, authorities said.
