CVS To Open Coronavirus Testing Site In Elgin
The company announced this week that it plans to launch 2,000 new sites to double its coronavirus-testing capacities by mid-October.

ELGIN, IL — CVS Health is set to open thousands of new coronavirus testing sites at its pharmacies throughout the U.S. over the next month, including one in Elgin.
The company announced this week that it plans to launch 2,000 new testings sites with a goal of having more than 4,000 sites operating in the U.S. by mid-October.

The CVS Pharmacy at 500 Dundee Ave. in Elgin will be one of 18 new testing sites to launch Friday in Illinois, bringing the company’s total to 96 testing sites across the state.
CVS testing sites use self-swab tests. Patients looking to be tested must register in advance on CVS' website to schedule an appointment. Test results are expected to available within two to three days.

"Since opening our first test site in March, we've been able to quickly adapt to the changing landscape in order to make it easier for people in the communities we serve to access testing," said Jon Roberts, CEO of CVS Health and acting president of CVS Pharmacy, in a release. "We recognize the critical role testing plays in helping to manage the spread of the virus and are incredibly proud of how our teams have responded to this need while continuing to take care of our customers, clients and patients."
