ECC Arts Center Presents Family Mariachi Band Cielito Lindo
This virtual event is FREE to view.

The Elgin Community College Arts Center presents Cielito Lindo, a family mariachi band, for a virtual performance on Saturday, April 16, at 7 p.m. The event is free to attend, but tickets are required. To reserve free tickets, visit elgin.edu/life-at-ecc/arts-center/events/.
With a fresh look and youthful energy, the Lucero family plays traditional mariachi instrumentation, performing both the traditional and non-traditional music of Mexico, Latin America, and the United States.
The family’s music story began in 2006 when the two eldest boys (then three and four) began singing with their father and his band at a local farmers market. In 2015, this large family relocated from New Mexico to their mother's hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Since moving to Chicago, the Lucero family wholly supports themselves through the arts and performs regularly as a trio and quintet.

As a family mariachi, they perform for restaurants, quinceaneras, romantic serenades, and wedding proposals. These fourth-generation musicians range in age from six to 17 and regularly perform for large audiences at Chicago Bulls games, music festivals, and stations such as WGN, and Univision. In 2019 the family performed the United States national anthem for 62,000 soccer fans at Soldier Field for Chivas vs. Club America. Just a few months later, the family was selected to compete on Nickelodeon’s nationwide talent search reality show “Americas Most Musical Family.”
Cielito Lindo loves bringing their youngest musical siblings when possible. The family says, “We are passionate about inspiring families to enjoy music, culture, and creativity together.”
