ECC to host virtual commencement ceremony for spring 2020 grads
Ceremony will premiere live on ECC's YouTube channel

Elgin Community College will host a virtual commencement ceremony to honor the spring 2020 graduates after postponing the originally planned in-person ceremonies in May. On Saturday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m., the ceremony will premiere live on ECC’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/elginspartans.
Graduates from both career and technical programs (associate of applied science degrees, vocational specialist certificates, and basic vocational specialist certificates) and university transfer degrees (associate in arts, associate in science, associate in fine arts-visual art emphasis, associate in fine arts-music performance emphasis, associate in engineering science and associate in liberal studies) will be recognized during this event.
The commencement address will be given by ECC President David Sam, Ph.D., J.D., LL.M. Additional remarks will be from Chair of the Board of Trustees, Donna Redmer, Ed.D., 2020 Illinois Community College Trustees Association Outstanding Full-Time Faculty Member Award Nominee Colleen Stribling, Ed.D., Executive Director of Institutional Advancement David Davin, and student trustee for the 2019-20 school year Abigail Swick.

Participating graduates’ names will be read, along with a submitted graduate portrait.
The entire program will remain on YouTube for future viewing and can be shared with family and friends.
