Register for Backpacks! Hanover Township's Annual Backpack Distribution will take place Monday, August 2 through Wednesday, August 11 for Township residents. Backpack Distribution will take place at the Astor Avenue Community Center (7431 Astor Avenue, Hanover Park). Backpacks available while supplies last. Backpacks filled with school supplies will be offered to students in grades K - 8. Please complete the form below to register for the program. Once registered, residents will be contacted no later than Friday, July 30 with a pick-up date and time. For questions, please call the Township at (630) 540-9085.

School supply donations are still being accepted and can be dropped off at all Township offices! Most needed items include backpacks, spiral notebooks, filler paper, pencils, markers, crayons, scissors, rulers, flash drives, two-pocket folders, erasers, calculators, highlighters, pens and glue sticks. For questions please call (630) 540-9085. Got Art? Art Show – Artist's Needed Hanover Township is looking for residents who would like to submit their artwork for the Got Art? Art Show. Artwork will be displayed for the in-person/virtual art show that runs from August 1-31 with an in-person Artist Reception on August 6 from 9AM-3PM.

Those interested must fill out the registration form by July 23.

Summer Grab-and-Go Lunch Program Hanover Township's Astor Avenue Community Center (7431 Astor Avenue, Hanover Park) is partnering with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to provide free grab-and-go lunches to youth through Friday, August 13. Lunches are available Monday through Friday between the hours
of 11:30PM and 1PM. No registration is required. Fridays in the Park Youth of all ages are invited to Lenoci Reserve (735 Stowell Avenue, Streamwood) on Friday, June 25 from 1PM-3PM for some community fun! No registration is required. Meet staff from the Streamwood Police Department, Hanover Township, and Streamwood High School Staff/Coaches. There will be games, music, and raffle prizes and youth can enjoy delicious hot dogs, chips, drinks and ice cream! Events are weather permitting.

Movie Screening and Q&A Series

Hanover Township’s Diversity & Engagement Task Force will show a free public screening of diversity themed movies at the Senior Center (240 S. IL Route 59, Bartlett). After the screening, there will be a discussion on diversity
and engagement in Hanover Township.

Depression Screenings Township Therapists will offer free, confidential, drop-in depression screenings in both English and Spanish on July 1, June July 9, and July 17 at the Town Hall (250 S. IL Route 59, Bartlett). Therapists will review the results of the screenings with participants and provide referrals as needed.

No appointment is needed. For additional information please contact (630) 483-5799. Individuals 12 years and younger must have an adult accompany them to screening. Stars N' Stripes Cafe Survey As the State of Illinois has moved into Phase Five of the state's reopening, Hanover Township Aging Services has been discussing reopening plans for the Stars-N-Stripes Cafe.

Depending on guidance from the Illinois Department on Aging, there may be additional safety protocol that will need to be followed (i.e. reservations for meals, social distancing from non-household members, etc.). Feedback is valued, so please take a moment to complete the following survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SNSreopening. Updates on our cafe's reopening will be shared in the future. Township Blood Drive The Office of Community Health, in partnership with the American Red Cross, will be hosting a Township Blood Drive on Tuesday, August 17 from 10AM-3PM in the Senior Center. Those interested in donating blood can call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org.

On appointment day, please bring a photo ID, blood donor card,
or two other forms of ID. Youth and Family Services Movie Night The next drive-in movie date will be on Friday, July 23 and will begin at sunset at the Township's Tiknis Campus in Bartlett (250 S. IL Route 59). Keep a lookout for the July movie announcement and a registration link!
