Elgin State Bank, part of the Wintrust Community Banks family, announced the promotion of Yaneth Medina to president.

In this expanded role, she is responsible for overseeing budget planning, loan growth, and maximizing revenue in the Elgin market area for the bank’s parent charter, St. Charles Bank & Trust Company, N.A.
“Having this leadership role at this level is quite an honor,” Medina said. “My passion has always been to help others, whether personally or professionally. I’m excited to lead our banking team and continue to make a difference in the communities we serve.”

In addition to serving on many internal and corporate level committees, she also dedicates her time to several organizations in the local area. Medina is the vice president and a board member for Centro De Informacion; chair and a board member for the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce; and a board member for Marklund Charities.
She has been recognized as 2020 Woman of the Year by Today’s Inspired Latina and one of the 2019 Top 10 Corporate LATINA Executives of the Year, a national recognition, by LATINA Style Magazine.

Medina has been with Wintrust since 2004 and has more than 25 years of banking, relationship building, and leadership experience. She has a bachelor of professional studies degree in business with a concentration in finance from Roosevelt University.
