Elgin City Council Candidate Lottery Scheduled

The lottery is open to the public and the drawing will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 2.

ELGIN, IL — The Elgin City Clerk’s Office has scheduled the lottery for the order of the candidates’ names on the ballot for the 2021 municipal election. The lottery is open to the public and the drawing will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m. in city clerk's office located on the second floor of City Hall at 150 Dexter Court in Elgin.

The lottery drawing determines the first four positions on the election ballot of candidates who filed their petitions of candidacy for the position of city councilmember for a four year term simultaneously on Nov. 16 at 8 a.m. Those candidates include:

  • Anthony Ortiz
  • Steve Thoren
  • Dustin Good
  • Richard Johnson

Another lottery drawing will determine the last two positions on the election ballot of the candidates that filed their petitions of candidacy for the position of city councilmember simultaneously on November 23, at 5:00 p.m. Those candidates are Carol Rauschenberger and Corey Dixon.

Other candidates, including Karin Jones, Jerri McCue, Jodi Perkins, Marcus Banner and Rafael Garcia Jr., will be listed in the order they filed their petitions of candidacy.
