Elgin Ranked Among Best In U.S. For Trick-Or-Treating

ELGIN, IL – Elgin recently received high ranks for trick-or-treating offerings in a study released by financial website smartasset.com. Smartasset.com placed Elgin as the ninth best city in the U.S. for trick-or-treating. Only one other Illinois town, Aurora, made the list, ranking as the fourth best city in the country for trick-or-treating.

Smartasset.com considered seven metrics when calculating its 2017 list of best places for trick-or-treating. Those metrics include: population density, percent of residents under the age of 15, home values, violent and property crime rates, precipitation and temperature.

In choosing Elgin for its list, smartasset.com writes:

Elgin fell two spots from last year. Many of its scores were similar but there was a slight uptick in home value and a slight increase in violent crimes. But still this is a great place to trick-or-treat. Elgin has the lowest property crime rate in our study. Plus, the average temperature around Halloween is 56 degrees Fahrenheit which is a nice, crisp temperature for trick-or-treating.
