- Make sure that costumes don’t limit visibility or mobility
- Children should be dressed in light-colored costumes for easy visibility
- Always cross streets at intersections and walk on the sidewalk
- Wait until you get home to eat your treats – parents are encouraged to check candy first
People who are giving out candy should turn on porch or exterior lights to keep trick-or-treaters safe. The city is also asking that drivers be especially observant when getting around during trick or treating times — be on the lookout for children crossing the street.
