Elgin Week Ahead Weather: Cold And Rainy

ELGIN, IL — We can expect a chilly week with high temperatures between 42 and 51 degrees this week, with a chance of thunderstorms threatening the area starting in the middle of the week.

Tuesday night through Wednesday may see thunderstorms and rain, with a 60 percent chance of precipitation and wind gusts as high as 15 mph.

The skies should clear up by Wednesday night, but not for long. Thursday night, there is a chance of showers after 1 a.m. which will last through Friday night.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook, warning residents of heavy fog and potential freezing fog on Monday and possible thunderstorms Tuesday through Friday, with a chance of heavy winds on Friday and Saturday.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 43. South wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers before noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. South southwest wind around 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 29.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43.

Thursday Night: A chance of showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 51.
