Elgin Week Ahead Weather: Winds To Calm Down

ELGIN, IL — This Thanksgiving week, we can expect the heavy winds to turn into relatively calm weather. Monday afternoon and evening, wind gusts may blow as hard as 30 mph.

Tuesday we can expect the heavy winds to die down by nighttime, calming down to light winds by Wednesday.

The rest of the week, including Thanksgiving, some clouds will block the sun, but the weather will be largely calm. High temperatures should be between 40 and 50 degrees throughout the week.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 21. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Thanksgiving Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.
